Poverty rate up in 2011, UW institute reports, By Coral Garnick, June 20, 2013, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel: “More Wisconsin residents were living in poverty — including one in eight children — according to a new report that accounts for both family income and government assistance programs. The overall poverty rate rose from 10.3% in 2010 to 10.7% in 2011, according to the fifth Wisconsin Poverty Report. The child poverty rate rose from 10.8% to 12.2%, which the report called ‘a significant increase…'”
