Section 8 cuts to trim funds to landlords 10%, By Jeff Swiatek and Richard Gootee, June 9, 2010, Indianapolis Star: “Facing a $3.2 million shortfall in federal housing voucher funds this year, the Indianapolis Housing Agency will cut payments to landlords by about 10 percent and not pay them an annual 5 percent inflationary rent increase. Landlords warned that the cuts might force some of them out of the federal Section 8 housing program for low-income residents. But housing agency officials said cutting payments to landlords is the only way to avoid having to kick 440 families out of the popular program…”
